CYCLING TOUR IN ISRAEL
The Israel Holy land 9 Day Bike Tour
FAQ
What is the maximum number of participants on each tour
Unless you are a private group, we usually restrict our guided groups to 15 people.
Will I be able to keep up with the group?
We do not try to keep everyone together, all the time on our guided group trips. Most rides have points where the stronger riders will ride faster but there will always be a "WAIT" point to allow everyone to catch up and relax.
How far in advance must I reserve?
Earlier is better. We can guarentee our prices and places when we receive bookings far enough in advance. We may be asked to add on a supplement for last minute bookings. We can cater for last minute bookings but these are dependant on Hotel vacancies.
I am a solo traveler. What is the single occupancy charge?
In general there will be a 125 Euro supplement for a single room (or a single occupancy).

Accommodation
Most of the hotels we are staying in have air-conditioning and Wi-Fi. We will also stay overnight in typical kibbutz guest houses, which are rural communities, offering nice rooms in bed and breakfast style, with a communal dining area. Typical breakfast and supper are in European style and picnic-lunch will be a sandwich, fruits, an energy bar and of course plenty of water.
Weather
In general, the weather in July in Israel is hot and sunny, about 22 at night up to 30 deg. C during the day. In the desert there can blow hot winds and temperature goes up to 35 deg. C.
What should I pack for the biking tour?
Although the hotels provide you with toiletries, towels etc., you should bring your own towel for swimming. While visiting Churches, men may have to wear long pants (bring thin pants which can be packed into your back pack) and women should bring a thin scarf or wrap to cover their clothes. Restaurants are all casual, so no ties required.
While riding, we need general biking gear: helmet, gloves, bib shorts, sunglasses, water bottles and spare inner tube(s) (unless hiring a bike), sunblock (high SPF is recommended!) and lip balm, warm jacket/sweater/fleece for evenings, small day back pack (with water bag...this is a must) and favorite energy snacks.
Can I hire a mountain bike locally?
Good quality hard tailed Bikes are available for hire, costs are 25 EUR/day and should be requested at the time of booking. You can bring your own pedaling system (please consult with us first!) and seat, which can be fitted on rented bikes. Full suspension bikes can be hired with a supplementary charge.
Fitness level
There will be some technically demanding ascents and descents during the cycle trip but these do not require any special training. In some sections of our biking rides we may have to push or carry our bikes. The tour guide will be with us throughout the trip and will give technical training tips to whoever wants them. Your luggage, except for daypack and biking gear, will be in the bus which also carries main spare parts.
Entry requirements
For travelling to Israel, your passport must be valid at least 6 months after the departure date from Israel. Citizens of most EU countries do not need a visa for travelling in Israel. Check with the Israel consulate in your Country before travelling.
Vaccinations
No special immunizations or medications are necessary for travel to Israel. Insect repellents and other measures to prevent mosquito bites are recommended.
NB! ISRAELSPOKES reserves the right to adapt and amend the itinerary, depending on the riding skills of the group and weather conditions.
